About the event
Come and join us for our end of summer celebration! We will be hosting a day camp on August 31, 2024 with games, farm, horse and nature based activities and will have experts here to answer questions for our participants. Please mark your calendars and note that as we get closer, we will provide a way to register for participation to ensure participants' safety and parking availability. Thus far we have recruited 2 of our local Washington state experts in the following areas: Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC), Autism, ADHD, Social-Pragmatic Language.
Star Jones MS, CCC-SLP, ACAS, ADHD-CCSP will serve as our Autism and Social Communication specialist. With her vast experience as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), Advanced Certified Autism Specialist (ACAS) and ADHD-Certified Clinical Service Provider (ADHS-CCSP) she is a valuable resource. She will have samples of resources. We are trying to save trees and money to keep this event free of cost to participants so please don't take the sample and know that Star will email you a copy individually so there will not be any spam involved - we don't like spam emails either. A sign up sheet will be available. You all know Star hopes to be out enjoying the camp with all of you but she will make herself available for consultation as needed.
Caralee Wirth, MS, CCC-SLP will serve as our Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC) specialist. Caralee is a licensed and certified SLP. Caralee owns a private practice, Dynamic Communication, in Lake Stevens. She is also the vice president of Northwest Augmentative Communication Society (NWACS), one of our state's most valuable resources for AAC. Caralee is a powerful advocate for family's and has volunteered her time to share her wealth of experience and knowledge in speech and language development and AAC with our local community. We are so excited to have her!
We hope to find representatives to provide support for our local community, but will need your help to determine what support is needed. Please send us a private message here or email Star Jones directly.
